Eastern Mountain Sports Council Jamboree
Join over 8,000 scouts and leaders at the Eastern Mountain Sports Council Jamboree on June 4-6 2010. This spectacular event will be held at the Hebron Fair Grounds. Come see scouting in action as troops, packs, post and crews show off their skills. It's fun, exciting, fast paced and a great way to view a jamboree. On March 27, 2010 the Hartford Wolfpack will honor our 100th Anniversary with a special game sweater featuring the Boy Scout Logo worn on these two nights during the game. These game worn limited edition jerseys will be auctioned after the game to raise money for scouting programs. Replica jerseys will also be available.
The Rock Cats will be celebrating Scouting throughout the summer. Sleep over games will be on May 8th and August 7th. Scouts will be honor guards for games (up to 5 complimentary tickets will be provided) and replica jerseys will be available.
Pinewood Derby cars representing every council will race across America using geocaching. The cars will be Travel Bugs®, moving from across America. Scouts and Scouters can track their car’s progress, read posted comments, and log the miles it travels.
The Connecticut Rivers Council is celebrating the Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America with a Council Wide Service Project supporting Lions International. We are asking everyone to donate their used eye glasses and cell phones Our goal is to collect 10,000 pieces. The eye glasses and cell phones will be recycled and given to those in need. The BSA 100th Anniversary National Hall of Leadership provides a one-time opportunity for you to honor and recognize a Scouting leader who positively impacted your life, or the lives of others. To be nominated, a person must be a living Scout or Scouting volunteer who may or may not be officially registered with the BSA. They must have served as an active Scout or Scouting volunteer for at least one year. A nominee may be young or old - there is no age limit - and you can submit as many nominations as you'd like.
A Year Of Celebration, A Century of Making a Difference Patch
Earn recognition for making a difference in yourcommunity due to your dedication to five of Scouting's core values: Leadership, Character, Community Service, Achievement, and the Outdoors. Through that commitment, you can earn each of five award ribbons to display from our 100th Anniversary commemorative patch.
A Year of Celebration will take place from September 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010. The program is open to all Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, adult leaders, and Scouting alumni. Read the requirements to learn more.Patches can be ordered from the scout shop.

National Jamboree 2010 and a Shining Light Across America
Over 43,000 scouts and leaders will come together for Jamboree 2010 - where adventure waits around the corner. Our council will be represented by six tropps. This year everyone can join the excitement. Using virtual hookups we will broadcast (and webcast) "A Shining Light Across America". This amazing stage show will transmit from the Jamboree.
