2019 Philmont Trek

Connecticut Rivers Council


 Philmont is the BSA’s 137,000-acre high adventure base in the Sangre de Christo Mountains of New Mexico. Crews spend ten days backpacking through the Philmont wilderness. Dynamic programs include rock climbing, gold mining, and lumberjacking. Add breath-taking mountain views and cool, starry nights, and you’ve got Scouting adventure at its best!

Dates: The Council Contingent will depart From Bradley International Airport June 22nd returning July 6th. Trek will include touring en-route to Philmont.

Travel Itinerary:

All ground transportation, 7 meals, 2 nights lodging, guided hike at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater, guided Air Force Academy tour, guided hike in the Garden of the Gods, visit to the town of Manitou Springs, and whitewater rafting


Cost: $2375 11 days at Philmont, transportation, meals, lodging and touring Colorado.


To Participate: Youth: must be at least 14 by January 1, 2019, or 13 and completed eighth grade by July 2018. Must be approved by Scoutmaster.

Adult: must be approved by Council High Adventure Committee, be at least 21, physically fit (must meet strict Philmont height-weight requirements), with strong hiking and backpacking skills.

Crews:        We have reserved 2 crews of 12 each.

Philmont Refund Policy.  

Due to the nature of this event, all payments for the airline, the tour and Philmont are required in advance of the event, which are non-refundable.  Refunds will only be made if a replacement is found
