The Scouts BSA program is designed to promote character, leadership, citizenship and personal fitness in boys & girls, while instilling the fundamental values of Scouting.
Scouting is the ultimate form of learning by doing. Scouts learn the value of hard work and experience the thrill of seeing it pay off. Youth lead their own activities and participate in services, outdoor adventures, and leadership development programs. Scouts are introduced to countless hobbies, interests, sciences, and even future career choices. They can work on advancement and earning specific merit badges, while also working their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank—Eagle.
The Scouts, who are also charged with planning activities and other events throughout the year, lead the program. By taking on these responsibilities, Scouts BSA develop and promote teamwork, while learning to lead as well as follow.
